Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Klip collects, why, how long it is kept and what rights you have. Klip is a mobile app that restaurants and other hospitality businesses ("venues") use to run checklists, manage their menu and track inventory.
Klip is operated by Luis David Claro Cordero, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("Klip", "we", "us").
1. Who is responsible for your data
Klip is used by businesses, not by individual consumers. This creates two roles:
- The venue (your employer or the business that invited you) decides who uses Klip and what information is recorded about their operations and their team. For that data, the venue is the controller.
- Klip stores and processes that data on the venue's behalf, following its instructions. For account data needed to run the service (for example, your email and password), Klip is responsible.
If you are an employee and have a question about the records your venue keeps, you can contact your venue directly or write to us at [email protected].
2. What data we collect
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Account | Name, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), profile photo if you add one |
| Work profile | Venue, department, job role, access level (Admin, Manager or Staff), status |
| Checklist records | Answers to tasks, readings such as temperatures, corrective actions, notes, the time of each answer and who submitted each checklist |
| Photos | Photos taken inside a checklist, and dish photos in the Food Bible |
| Venue content | Dishes, ingredients, allergens, inventory items, counts, orders and deliveries |
| Device | A notification token for your phone, so we can send push notifications, and your notification preferences |
We do not collect your location, your contacts or photos from your gallery. Checklist photos can only be taken with the camera at the moment of the task.
3. How we use it
- To provide the service: sign you in, show you your venue's checklists and store your answers.
- To send the notifications and daily summary emails you or your venue have enabled.
- To send account emails, such as verifying your email address or resetting your password.
- To keep the service secure and to investigate problems.
We do not sell personal data, we do not use it for advertising and we do not share it with other venues.
4. Service providers
We use the following providers to run Klip. They process data only to provide their service to us.
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication and file storage |
| Google Firebase Cloud Messaging | Delivery of push notifications |
| Resend | Delivery of account and summary emails |
| Google Workspace | Our support email |
These providers may process data outside the United Arab Emirates. Where this happens, we rely on the safeguards offered by each provider.
5. How long we keep it
How long records and photos are kept depends on the venue's plan:
| Plan | Checklist history | Checklist photos |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 30 days | 7 days |
| Pro | 1 year | 90 days |
| Premium | 4 years | 1 year |
| Enterprise | As agreed | 4 years |
Photos are deleted automatically when their retention period ends. When a venue changes plan, it has a grace period of 30 days before the new photo retention applies. Dish photos are deleted 7 days after the dish is deleted.
When you leave a venue, your account is disconnected from it. The checklists you submitted remain part of that venue's records, because they are the venue's evidence of the work done.
6. Security
Each venue's data is separated at the database level: a user can only read and change data belonging to their own venue. Checklist photos and profile photos are stored privately and are only available through temporary links. Connections to Klip are encrypted.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your personal data, correct it or delete it. You can also object to how it is processed. Write to [email protected] from the email address of your account.
To delete your account, see Delete your account.
8. Children
Klip is a work tool and is not intended for children under 16.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, inform venue Admins by email.
